HAPPY 80th BIRTHDAY DAVID LEE WINDLEY!

David Lee can now call himself GROWN!  Mr. Windley (our church host) celebrated his 80th birthday with his wife, Mrs. Helen Windley and his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and on and on...from New York, Greensboro NC, Greenville NC, and various cities!  His week-end was packed with energy, much conversation, and surely "GOOD FOOD".  I'm sure  he has some strong  and wise advice  for everyone...He's never short on that!

2009 FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY  CELEBRATION was again a great blessing to the WHITE PLAINS CHURCH FAMILY! 

This awesome community did not hesitate to prove their LOVE, SUPPORT, AND CONCERN for our ministry.  The choir, ushers, praise leaders, ministers, hospitality, and the congregants was shared by members as well as family and community participants.  This was a great day of TOGETHERNESS... TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

We are thankful and humbled to GOD for this FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY CELEBRATION because it gives us the opportunity to reach out to our family and friends with a renewed attitude and heart.  We remember the people in our lives and we are reminded to never take each other for granted.  This is important to GOD!

We pray for our community, our families, and our friends that God may prosper all of us in spirit, peace, health, finances, and relationships (and all areas) according to the promises in his word.

May we continue- on daily, the best we know how and CONSIDER EVERY DAY TO BE A FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY CELEBRATION!

VBS...SUCCESS, SUCCESS, SUCCESS!

What a wonderful and fun time we had for VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!  We find out more and more that learning about God and his desires for us can be fun and rewarding all at the same time.

The Belhaven children as well as the adults came together in a great way with one focus... to learn and enjoy doing it.

Our theme for this year was "THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT".  We all studied that the attributes of God should be our model and goal of how to live accountable towards each other.

HALLELUJAH!  AND CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR VBS TEAM LEADERS!  WE APPRECIATE YOUR LONG HOURS AND HARD WORK AND YOUR SACRIFICE TO MAKE THE VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL PROGRAM SUCH AN EXCELLENT SUCCESS. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

May God continue to bless you and all your team efforts as you continue to prepare for our next VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL...2010!

WPCMINC is BLESSED to have five(5) Bible Ministry Students to complete a Ministry Course of Study at the MOUNT GILEAD SCHOOL OF MINISTRY OF BELHAVEN NC.

The graduating students are:  ANGELA DAVIS, FAYE WINDLEY, HELENE' PALMER, LASHONDA HOLLOWAY, and OCTAVIA BREWINGTON.There are many other students from our community churches that will be honored also. 

  We're sure they all have worked very hard to accomplish this great honor.WPCMINC is proud of all the graduates and we continue in prayer for all of them...TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Commencement Excercises are scheduled for  SATURDAY, JUNE 6th @ 3:00pm. All are invited!  

KIARA COLLINS, GOD, AND HER MUSIC!

MS. KIARA COLLINS, a young teenager and member of White Plains Church proved a faithful fact to the community that if you ask God and have faith in Him, YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH  CHRIST THAT STRENGTHENS YOU!

RESURRECTION SUNDAY was extra special to White Plains Church when one quiet youth, KIARA,  surprised the congregation by playing a hymn on the keyboard during the morning service.  KIARA SKILLFULLY PLAYED THE BEAUTIFUL HYMN, "JESUS KEEP ME NEAR THE CROSS". 

"KIARA is  extremely shy .  She hardly says anything... just a humble smile is the most that you get from her",  says one of the congregants.

Everyone was in awe and truly enjoyed KIARA, GOD AND, HER MUSIC!  Standing Ovation was the majority reaction from the entire congregation!

God Bless You, KIARA!  God truly has blessed you and in return you truly blessed your church.  We thank God and we thank you for your hard work with practice, and your faith with obedience!

RESURRECTION SUNDAY SERVICE!

PRAISES TO GOD and his son JESUS was definitely the focus of the morning worship at WHITE PLAINS on April 12th.  The expectency of new revelation and forgivesness was overwhelmingly present.  You could just  " feel it in the atmosphere" when you entered!

DOUGLAS COGDELL, pastor, preached a new revelation from John 20:24 and many other scriptures titled "I BELIEVE WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS".  Jesus died on the cross to pay the debt of sin for all of us... a debt we could not pay.  He arose from the dead to God,  to claim new life for every believer to have ETERNAL LIFE...THANK YOU LORD JESUS!

The YOUTH CHOIR  led in the praise to God for His Goodness. They sang inspiring music to uplift and encourage believers, as well as the not-yet-believers, under the direction of CARROLL WORRELL-BARNES and the PRAISE TEAM.

All were blessed in this service, as was expected.  The spirit of God resurrected NEW HOPE in each of us and encouraged our faith...our belief in WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS!

CELEBRATE MOTHER'S DAY!

We honor ALL MOTHERS on MAY 10TH, 2009 at 11:00 AM at WHITE PLAINS CHURCH!  COME AND BE A PART OF THIS JOYOUS CELEBRATION!

MRS. HELEN WINDLEY,  our church mother, finally gets the opportunity to "be served" instead of doing the serving.  "Muh Helen" (affectionately called)  has "passed the torch"  to another well-qualified member to carry-out as the KITCHEN HOSTESS. 

We appreciate you, Muh Helen, and may God richly bless and reward you for the unselfish and loving hospitality you shared with our kitchen fellowhip ministry.  GO AHEAD NOW AND ENJOY YOURSELF...BE SERVED!

WELCOME PAULETTE WINFIELD... NEW KITCHEN HOSTESS!  Mrs. Paulette Winfield, one of our church Missionaries, has gracefully stepped up to the responsibility of KITCHEN HOSTESS.

  We are grateful to have Paulette to "man" the kitchen feeding schedules because we know that it is hard work.  HEAR GOD AND TRUST HIM, THEN DO WHAT HE SAYS!

FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT OF THE USA

On this cold snowy day, BARACK OBAMA became the FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA  to be acknowledged as such in the political history as we know today. 

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009

New years service is always a blessing... because we are here!  But how many of us realize that we "never could have made it" without the Lord. Think about "all the drama and situations" that we made it through just to be HERE... GOD SPARED OUR LIVES...HALLELUJAH!

That was the attitude of the congregation for New Years service.  Praise and Worship was the focus throughout the night.  All were favored with a movie entitled THE APPOINTMENT, stressing the fact that all of us must meet JESUS at an appointed time...at HIS CONVENIENCE

THEN THE WORD!

REV. RICHARD HOOKER, Fayetteville NC, taught from the scriptures of How to Prepare For This Appointment that we all must meet.  He taught that though we are made by God, sin has separated us from God and his plans for us...his plans to prosper us.  However,  we can be rejoined to God  through believing on the name of JESUS CHRIST(His Son that died for us) and asking forgiveness of our sins and ACCEPTING JESUS CHRIST AS OUR LORD AND OUR SAVIOR OF OUR LIVES!  OH WHAT A WORD!

Thank God for His wonderful miracle plan to rejoin us to Him that we may live life ABUNDANTLY AND ETERNALLY with Him.  Thank God for  NEW HOPE, NEW LIFE, NEW JOY  In JESUS Name ...AMEN!

NEW YEAR'S FELLOWSHIP HOUR!  Immediately after the NEW YEARS FELLOWSHIP SERVICE 2009, everyone enjoyed tasty refreshments, desserts and good conversation.

Well-wishes and blessings were expressed to each other among the youth and adults as we lingered around in the presence of the spirit of peace to all men.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE AND MAY THE PEACE OF GOD REST, RULE, AND ABIDE WITH YOU  AND YOUR FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR!  GOD BE WITH US ALL!

CARING AND SHARING  NOVEMBER/DECEMBER FOOD DRIVE...a  Great Success!

Thanks to all of you for making the CARING AND SHARING  mission to  "help fight hunger in our community... in our world" a great, great success during Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We are looking forward to doing this again really soon;  so let's  continue to be ready for our next giving opportunity.

Your unselfish help to this mission is the "key" to it's great successes.  We can not succeed with out YOU!  So go ahead...CARE TO SHARE!

2008 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM...WOW!

YAHWEH'S(GOD'S) KIDS do it again!  Everyone enjoyed the scriptures of the birth of JESUS CHRIST dramaticall portrayed by the youth of our church on december 18th.  The kids were careful to share their understanding and sensitivity to the atmosphere of this miracle... JESUS' BIRTH.

PARENTS, CHURCH FAMILY, AND THE COMMUNITY are very proud and thankful for these young people for offering their time and talents to the activities concerning SALVATION.

Special thanks to DELLA BURGESS, M. FRAN GIBBS, CARROLL W.-BARNES REBA GRIFFIN, TYEISHA WASHINGTON , and KEISHA BURGESS for their overtime support to this youth drama team.  WHITE PLAINS LOVE YOU!

ALERT! !  STAY TUNED TO SEE AND HEAR WHAT THE "YAHWEH'S(GOD'S) KIDS" ARE PREPARING FOR "RESURRECTION SUNDAY 2009"!

SING AND SHOUT!  The WHITE PLAINS SR. CHOIR celebrates another anniversary with GOD STILL ON THEIR SIDE!  This choir's history goes back over 100 years with many stories of "trials and error",  "ups and downs", "victories and failures", and "in's and outs"... AND STILL THE LORD HAS ABUNDANTLY KEPT THEM TOGETHER!  HALLELUJAH!!

The celebrations began on Friday, November 7 at 7:30pm with the REV. KENNETH BARROW and the EVANGELIST MARIAN BARROW (wife).  REV. KENNETH BARROW encouraged the choir with the message from heaven titled  "JUST SING AND SHOUT" Psalm 33.  THE BELHAVEN COMMUNITY MEN'S CHOIR sang uplifting music for the service.

Sunday morning at 11:00am, November 9th, celebrations continued with a highly annointed choir and musician team called  "GIVEN" from Greenaboro N.C. that featured the former drummer/keyboardist  for WHITE PLAINS CHURCH, MR. KEWAUN BREWINGTON  also of Greensboro N.C.  KEWAUN is the son of Deacon and Missionary william and Octavia Brewington, both members of WHITE PLAINS CHURCH MINISTRIES INC.

Everyone was truly blessed by God in this celebration. CONTINUE -ON IN THE LORD White Plains Choir...God Will See You Through! 

CONGRATULATIONS TO MRS. LENA M.SMITH. Mrs. Lena Mae (affectionately called) has been voted as the USHER OF THE MONTH for October 2008!  She is a long- time member of this church family and community.  She also serves with the church Hospitality and Kitchen Ministry and does it with LOVE.  We are proud of  and thankful for MRS. LENA MAE and our entire USHER'S BOARD... A MINISTRY OF SERVICE WITH LOVE.  TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

WHAT A GREAT DAY OF FELLOWSHIP!  Who says that the 100-plus year old church building cant't hold over 300 EXCITED worshippers?  PRAISE AND WORSHIP was "on point" for the FAMILY and FRIENDS CELEBRATION on 2nd Sunday in October 2008!  Church Families and Friends, Community Family and Friends, and many out-of-town Family and friends celebrated with White Plains!

We are so grateful and humbled to all of our Family and Friends everywhere for honoring us with your love, attention, and presence on this special occassion.  WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR WONDERFUL FELLOWSHIP WITH US.  WE ENJOYED YOU!  WE HOP TO SEE YOU AGAIN IN OCTOBER 2009!

WHITE PLAINS USHERS hosted their first FELLOWSHIP LUNCHEON on Sunday, October 5,2008.  The board  enjoyed a "home-like atmospher and country dishes...too delicious and too many to name.  The pastor,Douglas Cogdell and Co-Pastor, Debra Cogdell were invited special guest.

Everyone enjoyed and is looking forward to the next USHER'S FELLOWSHIP LUNCHEON! 

KENNETH BARROW, a resident and graduate from the Belhaven N.C. community has been proclaiming the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST for many of his young years, from the street corners to the community churches.  Now, the SPIRIT OF GOD released and authorized "KENNY" to proclaim the GOSPEL IN ALL THE WORLD.

The Belhaven Community is proud of and prayerful for KENNY in his "not-so-new" calling.  DO IT KENNY...DO WHAT GOD HAS ANNOINTED AND APPOINTED YOU TO DO!  IT'S ALL ABOUT BUILDING GOD'S KINGDOM...IN BELHAVEN NC...IN ALL THE WORLD...IN JESUS' NAME...AMEN!
